Overview

10Foot is a London graffiti writer who has worked anonymously throughout his career. He is associated with the Diabolical Dubstars, and his name has appeared for years across the surfaces the city would rather he left alone: trackside walls, tunnels, bridges, canal banks, rolling stock and the sealed infrastructure of the Underground. The Financial Times has described him as the most prolific writer in London.

The practice is built on repetition rather than refinement. The tag is plain and fast, and its force comes from accumulation and placement — the same name, returning, in positions that are difficult, illegal and often dangerous to reach. Where a great deal of contemporary graffiti has been drawn toward the conventions of the gallery, 10Foot's work has stayed on the side of the form that predates and resists them: quantity, risk and persistence as the measure, and visibility to the people who actually use the city as the audience.

That has kept him at some distance from the market, and the distance is deliberate. Attention from the press and from fashion has not produced a conventional career, and his name has remained attached to the walls rather than to a body of saleable objects. What he has released has tended to come from the practice itself: the Disintegration Loops prints take their material from the layering, weathering and buffing that his own tags undergo in situ, so that the erosion of the work becomes the work.

In March 2025 he guest-edited an issue of The Big Issue, and in the same month showed with the writers Tox and Fume in Long Dark Tunnel at Arts Arkade in London — a rare appearance indoors for all three, and one framed around the underground rather than away from it. He remains anonymous and continues to work in London.
